CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carbine. S# 5593097. 18" bbl. Bbl is marked behind front sight "UNDERWOOD / 1-43 / flaming bomb". Milled adjustable rear sight with faint crossed cannons on the left side and "SA" on the right. Blade front sight with protective ears. Bbl band with bayonet lug is marked "AMCO". 6 o'clock slide marked "PI". Flat bolt marked "IO". Inland milled trigger housing, rotary safety, mag catch "W.I.", straight cut hammer marked "W?". Oval cut low wood stock. Stock is marked on right side of butt with crossed cannons. Encircled "P" proof at end of grip. Stock as several fading white painted rack numbers. Boxed "BA / JPL" indicates overhaul at Benicia Arsenal. Two rivet handguard marked "SJ". MAGS: None. CONDITION: stock set has original appearing finish with light wear and scattered handling marks. Metal retains 75% of its arsenal rework parkerized finish with thinning and light wear. Very good shiny bore. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col.
